During the early 1990’s, there was a “Sweet Valley High” board game that had young prepubescent looking girls in the commercial, one moment in the game had one of the girls saying “Jessica, you stole my boyfriend!”.
I wonder if there was any controversy in the early 90’s over “Sweet Valley High” getting a boardgame aimed at children because those books had some “inappropriate” subject matter aimed at children, as well as that board game’s commercial having a young girl blurt out about Jessica stealing her boyfriend?
I met a woman who said she used to read those “Sweet Valley High” books when she was a young girl and she said she remembers feeling so grown up reading them.
